Stuart Mills
Staff Counselor
Stuart is a native of Zachary, Louisiana and currently lives in Brandon, MS. He graduated from Belhaven College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies in 1999 and then Reformed Theological Seminary with a MDiv in 2006, and most recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling from RTS in 2026 and was granted P-LPC licensure in 2026. He is an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America and served as a missionary in Peru from 2010 to 2023. Stuart has experience with pastoral counseling, discipleship, and theological education.
His aim in counseling is to help you draw out the deep waters in your heart (Proverbs 20:5) so he can begin to know what it is like to be you and facilitate healing and growth. He will seek to help you get unstuck from problems that inhibit you from being able to live more fully who you really are. He sees every human being as made in the image of God, which means that everyone is created with dignity and should be treated with honor and respect.
He uses an integration of Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral models in therapy. Stuart is a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator and has completed Gottman Level 1 training. Stuart is an EMDR counselor currently in training. He is fluent in Spanish.
He is married to Megumi, and they have four children, two boys and two girls. One of each of their children is in university, high school, middle school, and elementary school. They worship at Redeemer Church in Jackson, MS. He enjoys sitting around a campfire with friends, reading, being outdoors, exercising, woodworking, working with horses, attempting a garden, and picking at his guitar or mandolin.
