Tyler Slay
Staff Counselor
Tyler Slay grew up in Brandon, MS, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2015. He holds a M.Ed. in Counseling and Human Development, and has been a provisional licensed professional counselor (P-LPC) since June 2023.
Tyler uses practical, evidence-based counseling methods to help clients with a variety of concerns. His approach is to help clients identify internal barriers that are holding them back and causing distress, and help them live in a way that is more meaningful, free, and guided by their deeply held values. His hope is that each of his clients feels understood right where they are and that the counseling process equips them with skills that help them become resilient in the face of current and future challenges
Tyler has received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an empirically supported treatment for anxiety disorders and a variety of other mental health concerns. Tyler works with clients with autism, assisting them and their families with management of anxiety and development of life skills. In addition, he has experience working with clients facing challenges related to depression, anger, ADHD, trauma, grief, spiritual concerns, substance addiction, pornography addiction, medical diagnoses, career transitions, and relationship stress.
Tyler works under the supervision of Dr. Chris Webb. He and his wife, Paige, live in Flowood with their daughter.
